QUOTE a-squared (aČ) is a complementary product to antivirus software and desktop firewalls on MS Windows computers. Antivirus software specializes in detecting classic viruses. Many available products have weaknesses in detecting other malicious software (Malware) like Trojans, Dialers, Worms and Spyware (Adware). aČ fills the gap that malware writers exploit. In addition to the scanner (which is also availabe in aČ Free), aČ Personal has our Background Guard. This is an extremely strong defence against your computer being infected by malware. The background guard manages several tasks. Each started program will be checked on the disk when it is started and blocked if it contains malware. But the real power of the background guard is it's new IDS (Intrusion Detection System). The IDS technology allows to monitor live the behavior of all running programs. If a program shows malicious trojan, worm or dialer behavior, it will be stopped by aČ Personal until you decide if the program is allowed to run or not. a-squared by emsisoft-->> |
