Want my advice? Don't.

Overclocking is vastly over-rated and dangerous.

So you have an athlon 64 rated at 3000, but it's clock speed is really 2ghtz.

Let's say you bump that by 40-50 clock cycles, a good boost unless you're using extreme cooling solutions.

Your bump in performance is 2 to 3 percent and your cpu life is reduced (not even accounting for a toasted cpu).

Think about that...is it worth it?

There was a time when a overclocking was worthwhile. I'd take a amd k6-2 300mhz an boost it to 450mhtz and see a whopping 50 percent increase in performance, but today's high powered cpus don't yield that kind of increase.

Leave it alone

I have a friend who did the same you want to do.
my advice: D O N T D O I T!!! he fried his processor, mobo and 1Gb of RAM!
so... If you really want to do this, think about the things you risk and what you get for it.
