uhhhh..well html stands for hypertext markup langauge. All web pages are coded in this langauge. To see an example of html you can go view<viewsource when you're at a webpage. As far as adding a image, it's the easiest if you just image host it. Image hosting is where you can put a image on a web page and then in the html of your page you can type in a code that contains the URL of that image. I'm not at my house right now where I could look up the html for adding an image but when I get back to my house i'll post it. You have to know the URL of the image that you want to use. www.tinypic.com has good image hosting where they put your image on a web page....but remember, this isn't your webpage they're putting it on. It's just a page that contains only your image. The code has the following part in it "='your URL of image'" and that's why you need to host the image. Hope that makes sense! Good luck with the new web page!

oh yeah..to put smilies in your posts on this board just click on the smilies to the left. In emails, it all depends on what host you're using.

HTML is just plain English (with American spelling) that has some extra characters added called Tags that tell the web browser what to display and where to display it. These are written as <> to open a tag and as </> to close. Therefor to begin a paragraph of text on a web page you would type in <p>My text in here for this paragraph etc,.</p> This <p> would begin your text entry paragraph and the closing tag </p> would close it.
It can be somewhat off putting to beging with but with a few attempts you will pick up the basics well enough to see whats going on. Try the link below for a clear run through. http://www.htmlgoodies.com/primers/html/article.php/3478131 Ped |

Usually this would be written as: <img src="WHERE YOUR IMAGE IS">
You might want to try http://photobucket.com you can upload images and the source tags are generated atomatically for you to copy and paste. |

something it seems you are missing in this is that you can't just put code for the location of the image on your computer - you must put the file (upload it) onto another computer called a web server (such as the aforementioned photobucket service) before you can code it - if you do use photobucket, it will give you the code to insert into your myspace. myspace also has its own photo upload space - after logging in, click home, then click edit/upload photos and follow the directions
