Suddenly starting today I cannot open Outlook 2003. When I try I get an error message that says "You need Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.01 or later to use this feature. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer from http://www.microsoft.com".

Of course I have the latest version and it works. Any help appreciated.

I can run everything in Office except Outlook... I keep getting the following message in a dialog box:

"You need microsoft internet explorer 4.01 or later to use this feature". very strange.

Even though you may not know the answer, is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction to seek the answer.

After deleting a bunch of cookies and turning off a bunch of services (i've turned all the services back on) I can't RUN MICROSOFT OUTLOOK - sad.gif :sniff sniff: Every time I launch the exe I get this horrible message that says...

"You need microsoft internet explorer 4.01 or later to use this feature. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer from http://microsoft.com"

I've unistalled and re-installed office - there's got to be some registry entry that can eliminate this f**ing nag.

I just fixed this one. I had to create a registry entry in "\HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer" with the version information. Make a new string value called "Version", and enter the version information, in my case I entered "7.0.5730.13". I don't think that it matters too much what version you enter as long as it is later that the 4.01 that is required.
