DVD PLAYS VIDEO BUT NO AUDIO

OS: windows xp



I have an acer 3003 notebook with windows xp. dvd will play video but no audio. Have tried several dvds and all the same. Sound card is good because system sounds and music cds play just fine. Same problem wether I try to play on real player, window media or I actual player. Help

Do you have dvd player software installed?

Trying to play movies. Assume DVD software installed because I can see picture and movie plays but no sound

never assume

do you have a dvd player like powerdvd or windvd installed? If not, install one
