I have several pretty high resolution images that I like to use as my desktop backround in windows xp and I've always wondered if it is possible - through some application - to zoom in on an image in that situation. Just a tool to make the image larger and larger without going into an image program. And of course just opening the image is totally easy, just seems like this would be cool

Completely frivolous, but then what isn't wink.gif

I'm not sure if this would suite your needs, but there is Windows Magnifier. If you don't have a Microsoft Mouse with the button to activate it you'll have to do it manually, but it might work for what you need it for. It should already be on your computer located in Vista in Accessories > Ease of Access > Magnifier.
