1: Is this symptomatic of something nasty going on? 2: How can I fix it? MS Help only comes up with a page which doesn't mention XP or IE6, but following its instructions leads me to Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections, Settings, Advanced, and the tick box at "Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed". It's ticked, and I'm still not (usually) getting the Autodisconnect. I used to get it every time, though I think I went through a similar patch a few months ago when it disappeared and can't remember how I fixed it then. I'm using XP, AVG, AdAware, Windows Defender, and UltraWinCleaner. ANy help gratefully received! Cheers Pam |

hello and welcome to geekstogo,
I think this might know how to fix your problem, so please do the following, Control Panel-> Internet Options-> Connections-> Settings->advanced-> be sure both are no checked, then go Control Panel-> Internet Options-> Connections-> Settings->properties->options-> idle time before hang up then go to "never" try this and see if it works, if not please post back. Thanx James |
