I was recently having a problem with the USB slots in the front of my computer so I used System restore hoping to fix the problem. Well when the computer restarted I was welcomed bya blue screen full of a bunch of mumbo jumbo and I am unable to get into the computer. It works in safe mode but theres not much I can do for I don't know exactly what caused the problem so I can't fix it.

The screen says:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installatoin, ask your hardware or software manufactuerer for any windows updates you might need.

If the problem continues, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select advanced statup options, and then select safe mode.

The Stop 0x50 message indicates that requested data was not in memory. The system generates an exception error when using a reference to an invalid system memory address. Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause Stop 0x50 messages.

Possible Resolutions:

If you added new hardware recently, remove and replace the hardware to determine if it is causing or contributing to the problem. Run diagnostics software supplied by the hardware manufacturer to determine if the component has failed.
Stop 0x50 messages can also occur after installing faulty drivers or system services. If the file name is listed, you need to disable, remove, or roll back that driver. If not, disable the recently installed service or application to determine if this resolves the error. If this does not resolve the problem, contact the hardware manufacturer for updates. Using updated drivers and software is especially important for network interface cards, video adapters, backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, and CD mastering tools. If an updated driver is not available, attempt to use a driver from a similar device in the same family. For example, if printing to a Model 1100C printer causes Stop 0x50 errors, using a printer driver meant for a Model 1100A or Model 1000 might temporarily resolve the problem.

Also, there have been reports that faulty RAM can cause this error message. Perform a memory test to rule this out. You can use this free memory test program:

I found this, I would give it a try.

Well heres the whole story... I recently hadf a robvlem with the front part of my computer. It wouldn't recognize that I attached things to the USb and such, loike Mp3 players and cameras just wouldn't show up. So I tried to get the computer to recognize it but nothing happened. I don't exactly know what I did. I truened the computer off and on and the comp still worked fine. Then I tried system restore back a month to fix the problem and when it came on I was greeted with the message. I don't know what hardware or anbything caused the problem or how to fix it. PLease help

Try disabling the hyper thread in the bios if that works ok im just not sure what wont work but i searched around and that what was one way it worked for others

it wont hurt to try stop errors are serious problems

it wont hurt for you to start saving or creatiing back up on cds music ,pictures and document that are important other than that you might end up reformatting or you could try a repair if you have xp cd

I've found many websites and articles that mention this problem and the possib;e causes but so far none of the suggested tips to fix it are working. I'm running out of ideas and patcience. I need to have this computer working fullly again within very short time. I need a solution otherwise Im gonna have to take it somehwere to be fixed for anything upwards of 70$. :-\
