98se AMD 2000+ dual hard drives/dvr & dvw/floppy 750gig mem ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ can't get my dvd's to work the (SiS 5513 dual PCI IDE) shows the error: This device is causing a resource conflict{Code 15} from the system/hard disk controller screen my help on Hardware trouble shooting does not seem to work after clicking the button, screen just goes blank have an identical computer system setup as the one i lost my CD's on, the problem computer with the resource error [15} on the SiS 5513 Dual PCI IDE controller... the new PC shows CDROM listed under the device manager with both cdr & cdw. The hard disk controller shows primary and secondary controller as well as the SiS 5513 Dual PCI IDE controller i checked the files on the problem system to make sure they existed the same as the new system and they are there windows\system\iosubsys\ESDI_506.pdr windows\system\vmm32\IOS.vxd the BIOS on the problem system knows the cd's are there when it is booted the resource values are the same on both systems for the SiS 5513 controller but the problem system does not list CDROM drives in the system hardware list and the primary and secondary controller on the system/hard disk controller are not listed on the problem computer i tried to unplug both cd's and boot but system wouldn't boot. Pluged one back in and the system came up, but still had the resource error on the SiS 5513.. how do we get the primary and secondary controller reloaded and get the CDROM listed in the system/harfware device manager on the problem computer? Thanks Michael |

The ultimate question is what is it conflicting with? Somewhere in the properties you'll find which other device(s) its conflicting with.
