Motherboard.....MSI Neo F ATX MS 7235 socket 775 CPU.................Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.40 GHz RAM.................4 GB DDR2 Case................Antec Sonata with 450W PSU OS...................Windows Vista Ultimate I would like to monitor the CPU temperatures and fan speed - preferably as a display in the Vista sidebar. I have downloaded the latest CoreCentre and DualCoreCentre monitoring software from the MSI site but it says it is not compatible with my processor. I have searched the web in vain - help would be appreciated. |

Hi there
Try Speed fan : http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System.../SpeedFan.shtml Sorry, the link above is actually to the beta version which requires registration etc. The link below will takes you straight to the latest non-beta version to download: http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php This post has been edited by Samm: Dec 11 2007, 05:07 PM |

Speedfan also has some issues with Intels newest processors. You can use Core Temp to correct for those issues. Check out this article:

MSI has its own hardware monitor called PCAlert. It should've been included with your motherboard. If not, go to the MSI site and download it. I find it very useful because I'm a paranoid Socket478 Prescott user (Prescott's run very hot!)

The MSI CPU monitor and fan speed control software listed for my motherboard is MSI Core Centre. However they do not do a version which supports Vista. I tried it - just in case it may work - but it does not. I now use a programme called Core Temp from http://www.alcpu.com/ which monitors the temperatures of each core and displays the results in the task bar. I don't do overclocking so all I need is display - not the ability to tweak. |
