OS: Windows 2000

More information learned:
I suspect that a virus or malware is on my computer. (I have windows 2000), since it's really slowed down and there were some folders with no name listed on the Control Panel. (remove/add programs was disabled.) When I turned it on the other day, it was in order to download some virus killing programs through your site. The computer turns on, seems to boot up, but ultimately I get a blank screen. I did Ctrl, alt, del and got in through Task Manager, and managed to connect to AOL by the Run Task feature. (Internet Explorere does not open.)

I put in the url for your site and got the message that I couldn't go anywhere b/c the memory was too full.

Recent development: I found I can open Excel through "run task" and am seeing malware type files in various folders. Can anyone recommend some software or anything I can buy and install to clean up my harddrive since right now all these bloody files are clogging things up and I can't seem to get on the Internet?

Please read the first link in my signature and follow the steps outlined there. When you are ready, post the HijackThis log here.

Try to do as much as you can and give us the HijackThis log after you did all those steps. If you can't those steps in Normal Mode, then try Safe Mode with Networking.
