I'm afraid I'm in need of some help here. Basically what's happening is the McAfee Virus Scan is indicating that it is deleting Spyware Strike every time I turn on the computer. I followed the instructions as best as I could in regard to Spyware Strike removal. I started with Smitrem. Next, I ran Ad-Aware and it removed 3 negligible items. The scan by Ewido was clean. This was all done in safe mode. I rebooted and ran the Panda Scan. I'll paste this below. As you'll see, there is a dialer that is not being removed. If possible, I was hoping for some assistance. Thanks.

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Click here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...p1/default.mspx Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log. DO NOT update to service pack 2 until we have finished cleaning your computer. |

Are you sure you downloaded the update?
Please go HERE (Microsoft website) using Internet Explorer (not Firefox or any other browser as they won't work)

Thanks for such a quick response. Here the option I receive after validation is completed. I'm not sure if this is the report you're looking for.

That looks much better. We make sure all users upgrade to service pack 1 to make sure they have a legal copy of windows. Otherwise we can't help them. Glad you got it to work.
We need to take a closer look at one of those entries. Jotti File Submission:
Download CWShredder Here to its own folder. Update CWShredder
Download smitRem.exe ©noahdfear, and save the file to your desktop. Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop. Place a shortcut to Panda ActiveScan on your desktop (in Internet Explorer, right click on Panda ActiveScan link select "Copy Shortcut" then right click on your desktop and select "Paste Shortcut" or in FireFox right-click the link and select "Save Link As" and save it to your desktop). Please download the trial version of ewido anti-malware here: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/ Please read Ewido Setup Instructions Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet. Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
=================================================== R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = :0 O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file) O3 - Toolbar: SecurityToolbar - {736b5468-bdad-41be-92d0-22ae2ddf7bcb} - C:\Program Files\Security Toolbar\Security Toolbar.dll O16 - DPF: {564EC66E-5A1B-51D3-1DB0-5080C83DA4EB} - ms-its:mhtml:file://C:ie.mht!http://69.50.164.12/exp/mht/sext01.chm::/MegaInstaller.exe =================================================== Close HiJackThis. Please navigate to this file and delete it: C:\Program Files\Security Toolbar\Security Toolbar.dll Now run CWShredder. Click I Agree, then Fix and then Next, let it fix everything it asks about. Reboot your computer into normal windows. Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen. Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish. The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply. Run Ewido:
Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck "Security Info" if present. Reboot back into Windows and click the Panda ActiveScan shortcut.
Let us know if any problems persist. MasterJ |

Here are the results from Jotti in regard to C\windows\system32\89o9e8ea
The file you uploaded is 0 bytes. It is very likely a firewall or a piece of malware is prohibiting you from uploading this file. I'll run the other programs and let you know. |

The results from cw shredder indicated that coolwebsearch was not found. I am also receiving notice from the McAfee scanner that ExploitMht.redir.gen exists. I don't remember seeing that one in the past. Below are the results from Smitrem, Panda, Ewido. I also added HJT. Thanks for all of your time spent. Its much appreciated.
