Cannot print. Some firewall is blocking me from doing so. But what?

I recently acquired AVG 8.0 Professional and AdAware 2007 Pro, and after installing both of them I've found that I can no longer print any more. Be it on Word or Adobe or anything, the programs just try to print and then freeze up.

Any idea which program could be causing this? Or how to prevent them from doing so? I'm connected to a printer that is on my LAN at a college.
