The following file is missing or corrupt. Windows\system32\config\system {System did slow down, froze up and was making a clicking noise before I hard booted it to find the error message.} Have booted from windows CD and gone to setup. If I select repair option and select 1 which is C:\, nothing happens. The same with trying to re-install. I get to the part where it says - Searching for previous versions of windows – and then it just hangs on that blue screen? Why is it not seeing any of my hard drives and o.s.?? Your help please System: Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz 64Bit POWER CPU So.775 ASROCK 775xFIRE-eSATA2 945PL SAMSUNG 250GB SATA-II HDD SAMSUNG 80GB SATA-II HDD EXTERNAL FIREWIRE HDD 100GB 1024 MB 533MHz DDR II RAM Type SAMSUNG This post has been edited by gerhard7: Aug 22 2007, 02:47 PM |

Download Puppy Linux from here. Download the last version. Burn to a cd and boot with the CD. After loading up try to open files write into them etc.
Puppy linux is a tiny operating system that sits entirely in the ram. By this it bypasses any problems which may exist in windows. Let us know if you can install and operate it. Please note any unusual sounds. |
