Do you have service pack 2 installed?

If not then go to windows update and do the express scan.
Download and install everything till you get to service pack 2 and download and install it also.

Ok, go to control panel
System
Hardware
Device manager button
Your graphics controller will be there
see attached screenshot.
click on the graphics card, then right click the card.
Click on update driver.
If it asks to look in windows update, let it.

So it's built into the motherboard.

It will still be in device manager somewhere.
Do you know the name of the graphics accelerator?

You could also do windows update again.
This time choose custom scan.
After it scans, see if anything comes up in hardware or software.
Go ahead and post what it says.

You should get a hardware update for your built in graphics.

Hello kut77less...

Sounds like you need to install the chipset drivers. What's the make and model number of your machine?

There should be a tag listing your make and model on the outside of your tower or laptop. Or it could just be engraved and not even on a tag.
