First, download, install, and run CleanUp! (so the scan won't take as long because cleanup will clear temporary files) *NOTE* Cleanup deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, backup it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running Cleanup!
Please download ewido security suite
Once the updates are installed do the following:
Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report
Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan Save the results from ActiveScan. I need you to post the log from Ewido, the log from ActiveScan and a new HiJackThis log. |

Please read these instructions carefully
*Click Here to download Killbox by Option^Explicit. *Save it to your desktop. *Double-click on Killbox.exe to start the program. *In the killbox program, select the Delete on Reboot option. *In the field labeled Full Path of File to Delete enter the file paths listed below ONE AT A TIME (EXACTLY as it appears, please double check to make sure! I would just copy each file path and paste it in the field): C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\msguard.dll C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll Press the button that looks like a red circle with a white X in it after each one. When it asks if you would like to delete on reboot, press the YES button, when it asks if you want to reboot now, press the NO button. Do this after each one until you have entered the LAST file path I have listed above. After that LAST file path has been entered press the YES button at both prompts so that your computer restarts. If you receive a "PendingRenameOperation..." prompt click NO and manually restart. After reboot, delete this folder: C:\Program Files\MyWay Make sure you are disconnected from the Internet and that all programs and windows are closed. Run HiJackThis. Place a check next to the following items, if found, and click FIX CHECKED: R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.tiscali.co.uk/products/index_de...845-08456650888 O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {44240BB5-BD7D-4D49-A1AA-8AB0F3D3CB44} - C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C8B2A36-3DB1-42A4-A3CB-D426709BBFEB} - (no file) O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file) O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://software-dl.real.com/2245a06fb5c004...ip/RdxIE601.cab O20 - Winlogon Notify: doceula - C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll Post a new HiJackThis log. |

Mr Vundo is just a stubborn dude, huh?
Let's try this... First do this: Open Notepad, and copy/paste the box below into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files". Save it as Unreg.bat on your Desktop. CODE regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll Locate Unreg.bat on your Desktop and double-click on it. Wait for a minute, and if you receive a prompt tell me what it said. Reboot into Safe Mode, you can do this by restarting your computer and tapping the F8 key until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode then hit enter. Locate this file: C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll Rename it to doceula.old, then Right-click on it and go to delete. Run HiJackThis and place a check next to this item and click FIX CHECKED: O20 - Winlogon Notify: doceula - C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll Close HiJackThis. Reboot into normal mode, post a new HiJackThis log and let me know if you had any problems. This post has been edited by bananafanafo: May 12 2005, 03:00 PM |

Yes, looks like Mr Vundo is a tough Cookie, hmm ???
When I ran the unreg.bat I got the message that access to library is denied ? What else can I do to get rid of this virus. I have tried almost everything possible. Thanks a stack. |

Please read ALL of these instructions carefully before continuing! They need to be followed exactly for this to work!
*Please download Process Explorer by Systernals from HERE. *Unzip Process Explorer to it's own folder and double click on procexp.exe *NOTE* You May receive a prompt saying something about creating symbols. Just click OK... it will load. *Process Explorer will open up. *In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double click on winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top. *Once you see this screen click on each instance of doceula.dll once and then click the kill button. *After you have killed all of the doceula.dll's under winlogon click OK. *Next double click on explorer.exe, Click on the Threads tab at the top and again click once on each instance of doceula.dll then click the kill button. *Once you have done that click OK again. Next, run HijackThis and place a check next to the following items: O2 - BHO: MSEvents Object - {44240BB5-BD7D-4D49-A1AA-8AB0F3D3CB44} - C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll O20 - Winlogon Notify: doceula - C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll Now click FIX CHECKED and close HijackThis. Please copy EVERYTHING in the code box below and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files" and save it as vundo.reg on your desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above REGEDIT4 CODE REGEDIT4 [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{44240BB5-BD7D-4D49-A1AA-8AB0F3D3CB44}] [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents] [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\MSEvents.MSEvents.1] Doubleclick on vundo.reg on your desktop. When asked if you want to merge with the registry click YES. Wait for the merged successfully prompt. Now, Double click on Killbox.exe and then check the delete on reboot button. Copy the filepath below and paste it into the Full path of file to delete box. C:\WINDOWS\java\CLASSES\doceula.dll Click the red circle with the white X. Click YES on both prompts so that your computer reboots. After your computer has rebooted please run Hijackthis again and post a new HijackThis log. |
