Ive tried a wireless router with my three computers with AOL, but after it says congratulations, etc. it still does not work, this also happens with the other two D-Link routers, is compatability the issue? But i have heard that the AOL Router that is guaranteed also does not work. Any help would be nice.

Thanks, Paul confused1.gif

28th Dec 2005

Welcome to [Geeks to go] – I do not understand your question – And why do you have 3 Routers –

Here are Basic Steps to follow -

1st – Contact AOL – Inform them what you are attempting to do – They will give all necessary information pertaining to:
1-Services required
2-Internet Provider Types
3-Internet Providers in your Area
4-Equipment/Devices Required
5-Compatibility Issues
6-Connection Issues

Post back the information from AOL – for additional suggestions/help – Now do – [Steps 2 thru 7]

2nd – Select an [Internet Provider Type]
3rd – Obtain [Internet Provider]

4th – Connect Internet to PC via [IP provided Modem] – Contact Provider if having Problem – and Post back for more help/suggestions

5th – Contact [IP] for [Internet Connection Protocol] & [Protocol Setup Criteria] – Post back information –

6th – Select a Router that is Compatible to [PC] – [Modem] – [IP]- [IP Protocol] – [Probably can use one of your [D-Link Router]
7th – Contact Router MFG Support Team – Give information found in [Steps 2 thru 5]

See Attached pdf – [Modem-Router-Interconnection]
