Solution

I have bought a new graphics card, a Leadtek Winfast A6600 GT TDH (Geforce 6600 GT).
The PC didn't crash so far, I hope this works for everyone else.

Hello everybody
My computer has gone crazy since I changed my Mobo and CPU.
When playing some games, at a random time, my PC freezes, sometimes with stuttering sounds, then the screen flashes and gets black. This happens with DoD: Source, CSS, Guild Wars, WoW, GTA San Andreas, BF2, Quake 3... [bleep], I mean ALMOST EVERY GAME!!!! All drivers are updated.

My system:
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-K8NSC
Athlon 64 3000+ Venice
Radeon 9600 Pro
512 MB RAM Kingmax
80 GB HDD

I have 2 guesses:

1) My 350W PSU is too weak
2) My GFX-Card is broken or is too weak for my mobo, (i know that sounds pretty n00bish, but maybe its true)
since I once got a bluescreen with an "ati2dvag.dll" error. I heard, that the ati2dvag.dll error is pretty common and happens often with Radeon 9000 Series cards. As I heard, buying a new GFX-Card solves the problem.
So Im planning to buy a new GFX-Card, a Leadtek Winfast Geforce 6600 GT AGP.

Its a very good possibility that your PSU is a little on the small side. Ive read that a lot of the new motherboards require a minimum of 375 and recommended 500 (or more) if running SLI or you have a lot of fans, opti drives. Basically a lot of accessories.

A couple things you can do. First make sure you have any programs turned off before running your games that might take up any CPU while playing, which you most certainly need running your games. Secondly you need to add another 512MB or more memory to your rig. 512 just isn't enough to power those games such as Quake 3. Also go to http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?id=29 and update your ATI Radeon card

About the RAM thingy, I dont think Quake 3 needs more than 512 MB RAM, the system requirements state, that it needs at least 64 MB RAM.
On my previous Rig I also had 512 MB RAM, but every game I played ran flawlessly. Using a Power Supply Calculator, my system needs at least 279 Watts to run properly, so I guess the PSU is definately not the fault.
So is it possible, that my GFX-Card is broken?

Uninstall the ATI drivers and install the latest ones, also update your motherboard drivers and run a memory checker such as memtest86+

Why didn't it help you? Need more details than that.
Did Memtest show any errors?
Do you have another graphics you can try?
Do you have another PSU you can try?

Memtest = no errors
I have a Geforce 4 MX 440, maybe in the weekend I will have time to test it.
I've already tried my father's PSU, still happening the same.
So, is it possible, that my GFX-Card is broken and needs to be replaced?

Anything this possible.
Remember to uninstall the ATI drivers before you installed the Nvidia card.
Also have you tried disabling your sound card and seeing if it crashes then?

About the soundcard thingy, I will try it...

ive got a 9600 pro mate and had the same problems, just go into dxdiag and put your sound quality to basic, that sorted it for me. hope it works.
