If I decipher your sentance structure correctly, "You have downloaded hijackthis to a win98 computer, and when you try to install it, you are missing a dll"

I would try the download again.
I will also warn you that if you are attempting to use the program yourself, please be forewarned that this is a dangerous program in the hands of those that do not know how to use it. It is meant for experts to use in removal of malware and virus's.

If you believe you are infected, please visit the malware forum (link in signature).

Are you having a particular issue?

It looks like you have Visual Basic 6.0 files missing, or corrupt.
Download, and install fresh copy: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=en

I don't see anything here about MySpace. Your question was about HijackThis error.
Did you download, and install Visual Basic 6.0 from my link?

OK. One thing at a time, please.
Did the download fix the problem with running HijackThis?

As for MySpace....at what point are you getting that error? While accessing the site, signing on, or...?
What browser, version?

Can you try another browser such as Firefox?
Its much safer that IE, because it is not targeted for malware and virus's as IE is.
This will help to rule out the browser.

can i upgrade from win 98 to win xp

The best option is always clean install, not an upgrade, but before you go there...

Please, post some computer info:
- processor type, amount of RAM (hold Windows key, hit Pause/Break key)
- hard drive size/free space (open "My Computer", right click on hard drive letter, click "Properties")

Here is the information you ask me for

Hard drive size: capacity 37.2GB
Free space: 35.6GB

Processor type: 1.10gigahertz Intel Celeron
Amount of Ram: 254.0 MG of Ram

Hope this is what you want

For XP, the processor is little bit slow, and you need at least 512MB or RAM (1GB preferable). I don't know how much RAM your motherboard will take.
