Whenever I do almost anything involving right clicking my mouse or deleting items with the "backspace" or "delete" key (dell keyboard), or dragging and dropping some items, I get this error:




I'm guessing this came from PKWares PKZip but why the heck is it still here after I unsintalled the program.

Not only that I've noticed that this sytem is very very very sluggish. I had to get rid of the desktop wallpaper and switch to windows classic theme just to be able to have things load decently.

I have Avast and use Comodo Firewall and Windows Defender. I havent been able to do a scan with SuperAnti Spyware or Malwarebytes AntiMalware just yet...

Hi,

If you only have it when you rightclick anything, then it's because a context menu handler was set for it and wasn't removed after the uninstall.

Download ShellExView: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html
Execute the program and let it scan. It will scan your computer for all shell extensions. Once the scan is done, Sort the results using "Type" on top, so that the Context Menu handlers are displayed together. In this part of the list (Context menu handlers), search if you find the "PKZIP Shell Extension" and select to disable.

Ahhh... yep that did. But can't I delete it instead of just disabling it? I uninstalled the program and that was left so I really dont need it on my system at all...

I actually did use ShellExView before once... but I guess if you dont do this stuff often ya forget about programs etc.

Yes, you can delete it. If you use ShellExView and select that entry again, rightclick, then you'll have the option "open with regedit or something similar". Then this value should be highlighted, so you can rightclick and delete it.
