I had error code 39 with my CD-Rom drive. I went to a website it said to delete my upperfilters. I went to delete them and I deleted more than I was supposed too. Now my mouse and my keyboard don't work.

I tried a lot to fix them, I have a wireless mouse so I tried to plug in a USB mouse and it still didn't work.
I also had my friend try to remote desktop me and her remote desktop doesn't work. So that didn't help much.
My friend thought maybe I could put the files on a disk drive and put them on my computer but that won't work..
One last thing I tried was putting my keyboard and USB mouse in the other USB things cause I have 4. Still didn't work.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! upset.gif

Have you still got XP running?
What exactly (If you can give exact file paths) did you delete?
Do you have any P/S2 mouses or keyboards you can use? (round plugs)

Olrik

Edit: TRY A PS/2 MOUSE/KEYBOARD FIRST LIKE what Artellos said. (sorry, i thought you said your friend was able to remote in to your desktop and nothing still works)

Ouch...

You are right, there is a bunch of {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
If you noticed on the right side when you click one of them, the first data will indicate which one it is for.
If you are having problems with your CD-ROM, usually its the first {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} and the first data will say DVD/CD-ROM Drives
That's where you would find the upper and lower filters.

You could be missing more than your mouse and keyboard functionality.

You could try repairing Windows XP since you cant really do anything else without a mouse/keyboard. http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm#RI

Make sure to update XP right away after performing the repair.

Hello Megann,

before you try a repair install try the following.
Boot your computer, and when you hear the PC beep keep tapping F8.
In the screen you can see there choose "Use last known good configuration".
that might set the registry back to how it was.

Regards,
Olrik
