Dell E510 DVD+-RW drive stopped working

OS: XP



I have a 4 year old Dell E510.The drivecannot read DVds. it canread CDs. I have never had probs reading DVd's Before. This just started about a week ago. I have been researching on the web for about a Week and trying EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!
THE Drive Is HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GWA4164B
I have Win XP.
Windows Service pack 3
Windows Media player 11
Roxio DVD Creator software
PLease Help

well since it is 4 years old you could try a dvd cleaning kit.... looks like a dvd with a little brush on it... if that doesn't work, more than likely the dvd laser is toast and you need to get a new one.
