After experimenting with the appearance of my W98 desktop (by going to Control Panel\Display) I find that I now have two objectionable features and I don’t know how to correct them. Would appreciate help.

a. The type face on the icon names are too small for comfortable reading. How can I increase the default font size?

b. Instead of the hour glaass symbol I used to have I now get a tiny picture of Mona Lisa that switches to a Paint-like picture of a pallet of several colors. How can I go back to the hourglass?

Thanks for your help.

a) Set the Windows scheme back to "Windows Default" to change it all back to how it was when it was first installed.

b) The icon that looks like a mouse in Control Panel -> Pointers tab.
