ok for the past few weeks everytime i or anyone else using the computer tries to open a file everything gets all slow and laggy and stuff and then a message pops up askin me if i wanna send an error report for Dr. Watson Post Mortem Debugger and im not even runnin the program, nor have i ever downloaded it. my brother said it came with the computer? but no matter what i choose, send an error report or dont send, the computer gets all messed up and i have to unplug the computer and plug it back in. minutes ago i tried to open the search thing from the start menu and it happened again so i dunno if its spreadin or what.

someone pleaseeeee help. it would be greatly appreciated.

Now, about your problem. Dr. Watson did in fact come pre-installed on your computer. It's a program built into Windows. It sounds as if you just have a corrupt installation of Windows.

Try reinstalling the OS into the same directory. If you have a recovery CD, you should backup your data and use the recovery disk. By reinstalling the OS to the same directory, you are just rebuilding the system files. You will not loose your programs and/or data.
