Open Ewido and on the Status page, change the Realtime Protection to inactive. Close Ewido.

I didn't find one of the ewido entries you noted, but took care of the other 3.

THe services which were already unchecked were
hp digital imaging monitor
quickbooks update agent.lnk

Restarted, then rebooted and it's booting in a normal time frame. And get this,
NO Generic Host Process Win32 Services error message! Woo hoo!

Was Ewido causing that error? So I suppose I can't turn it back on?

p.s. My sound is working again, too.

If that's the free version of Ewido, leave the guard disabled. It won't work properly after the trial period anyway.

The HP Updater, IMO, should stay off, as should the Dell Support. (I don't care for anything automatically updating........if I want updates, I do it manually)

Since we disabled a couple of things, the only way to know for sure which one is to blame is to undo them one at a time and reboot until the error returns. It may very have been the auto updaters or the IPv6 firewall.
