HTTPBlock_trace.txt file appearing on desktop

Everytime I run IE 6 now I get a little (58 byte) text file on my desktop. The name is HTTPBlock_trace.txt
Here's what it contains:
1: BlockHTTP.cpp: 75: HTTPBlock DLL got loaded

I have scanned my computer for viri and found none. Also scanned with adaware and spybot nothing found. I'm hoping that's there not a new critter running around on the internet that I caught.

Anyone out there have any ideas? Do I need to post a hijack this log

Which firewall are you using?

I would include SpotLock WiFi security in that category. :tazz:

Since this is a work computer, none. I did download jiwire's spotlock wifi finder. Is that causing this?

Can you ask the System Administrator?

Or do a Find Files for HTTPBlock
Maybe the folder you find it in will tell you some more.

I know that the application I mentioned in my last post (Spotlock) produces logs like that which sometimes end up in the wrong folder.
Since your desktop is actually a special kind of folder I thought that was what happened.

I've had the same problem, compounded by having my browser blocked, and preventing navigation, but having an option to buy the service to "protect" my wi-fi connection. All returned to normal after I uninstalled the program... I hate these programs that install on your system and then basically force you to buy (or uninstall them!)
