I do not know much about this, but I have a computer with a built in web cam and was wondering if somehow someone could access my webcam. I am always at my computer and the cam is always right there in front of me and it makes me wonder. I like my privacy. Could someone actually hack into my webcam on my computer? Thanks to anyone who can help me.

without getting into detail on the "how to"....short answer is yes....IF someone had the desire to do so there are multiple ways that someone could gain access to your computer in such a way that they would be able to gain access to the webcam on your computer....if you're REALLY worried about such a thing happening (again someone would have to WANT to get access to your webcam specifically to do so) you could either disable the hardware (which could be re-enabled remotely if someone wanted to and had gained the proper remote access) or go the low-tech route and just put a piece of electrical tape over the lens when you're not using the camera

Of course this can be done, The best advice would be to switch your webcam off. I found a website when looking around on this topic that pretty much claims they can do and so easy as well. The website I found is here Webcam Hack

Yeah turn it off, you will know it is off because the light will be off. If the light comes back on when you have not touched it, get a computer security expert to take a look at your computer.
