"Hard Drive Not Found" Before Boot Screen on Dell Laptop

OS: Windows 7 7600 Ultimate



A laptop I have had for a good 3 years is starting to give me a message that theres no hard drive, Ive tried taking it out, and placing it back it still, no good. Did the hard drive fail?

Laptops tend to be very tough on hard drives, especially if they are left in hot cars very long. Fortunately the price for laptop drives has come down quiet a bit so replacing one isn't such a big deal. Do you have important data on the drive? If it is bad hopefully the data can be retrieved.
