OS: Windows XP

Hello,

On startup my PC gives an error message regarding "dls0523pmw.exe". It says the program has encountered a problem and must be shut down, and gives the option of sending an error report.

Also, all of my Desktop icons have a blue highlight behind them, as if I selected them all. What causes this? And how do I fix it? Thanks for your time and help.
