smile.gif .hey everybody, I'm Jorie, nice ta meetcha!

I'm here because I'm specifically worried about certain people ( like exes) remote installing spy packages on my pc -- you know, the kind that can log your chats and transpose your keystrokes and so forth, the serious spy packs. I only suspect it now but I'd just sleep easier at night if I had some kind of protocol or product that would sniff these out of stealth mode.

All suggestions appreciated!

Hi and welcome.... in most cases you ex-friends are not going to be able to remote install anything like that, but if you suspect they have please go to the malware forum and follow the instructions at the top....Especially the CLICK HERE.

That will give you several steps that will help you clean up 70 percent of all problems by yourself. If at the end of the process you are still having difficulty--and you may not be-- then post a hijackthis log in THAT forum.

Thanks very much!

The spyware I'm worried about is something like...I think there is something called Internet Spy, which can be emailed and downloaded on a remote computer. I know someone couldn't come into my house and load a program, but I could have clicked on something at some point that loaded something like that -- never know until you check, right?

Thanks for your help!
