Hi , is there any way of getting rid of Windows Media Player 10 as i use Realplayer as my main Music player any ideas

If you have installed Windows Media Player 10, you can roll back to the version of the Player that was on your computer before installing Windows Media Player 10.

To roll back from Windows Media Player 10 to a previous version, do the following:


In Control Panel (Category View), click Add or Remove Programs.
Click Remove a program

Now do one of the following: If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, select the Show updates check box (at the top of the list), click Windows Media Player 10 (in the Windows Updates section), and then click Change/Remove.

If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier, click Windows Media Player 10, and then click Change/Remove.

Hi where is Remove a Programme it aint even on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMMES

Click START --> CONTROL PANEL
Double click on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS

Now do one of the following:

• If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2, select the Show updates check box (at the top of the list), click Windows Media Player 10 (in the Windows Updates section), and then click Change/Remove.
  
• If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 1 or earlier, click Windows Media Player 10, and then click Change/Remove.

You can got to Remove programs and choose remove Windows Components and Unclick the WMP and click OK and let windows rebuild your database.

Thanks for the added input, but that idea would not be recommended until AFTER he rolls back his version of Windows Media Player to that which was installed when windows was first installed.

If you can't get it uninstalled open win mediaplayer and click on the tools tab, then click on file types and uncheck everything, this will stop windows media player from being default, then go to real player settings and make it default, then when you play anything it will automatically open with real player.
