IE7, Windows Update, Steam News Update

I started a thread in the Windows XP, 2000, Vista thread, but I think I need to have it in Malware. Here's a link to that thread:

I ran some IE6 fix and it helped with some things like being able to update my antivirus (Avast!). I installed FireFox via cd that I burned. Internet Explorer 7 can't access the internet. I get that famous "Page Cannot Be Displayed" page but with a little something extra. Here's a jpg of the page I get:

I haven't tried running any antivirus scans yet, but I'm going to. After I run those, I'll post a hijackthis thread if the Avast doesn't catch whatever it is.

Please, If you already know what the problem is, post up! I really need this fixed. Thank you for any help you can give!

Take note as well that I've run Ad-Aware, SuperAntiSpyware and Avast! anti virus. Ad Aware caught 48 items which I deleted, but none of those were in the critical list. SuperAntiSpyware caught nothing. ATF Cleaner deleted and freed up space. I've also cleared the restore points of past. I would run the online Panda scan, but I can't access the internet with IE7.
