Hi,

I'm a teenager and my computer has recieved the Aurora virus (oh no!). After many hours of searching for ways to fix it (and finding out that I also have other viruses that I was able to remove) I found your site. Can you help me get rid of Aurora? Here's my hijackthis log...

Any help would be so greatly appreciated, but please keep in mind that I'm young and may need a little assistance, so try and be patient! I know a lot about the computer and shouldn't need too much extra help, though. Where do I start with this log?

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

1. Make sure your PC is set to show all hidden files and folders go here for instructions on how to do this. http://www.xtra.co.n...1916458,00.html

2. Boot into safemode to do this keep tapping F8 on your keyboard while your PC is starting up you will get a menu select safemode.

3. While in safemode open Hijackthis and click scan. Then tick and fix the following in Hijackthis with all windows closed except Hijackthis.

Alright, the C:\WINDOWS\system32\ files were all not present on my computer, but i delted everything else. You also told me to delete my freewebs homepage, which I did, but I reset it because it's something I want on my computer. If I really need to delete it for fixing reasons, tell me and I'll do it again.
