Windows Movie Maker, which comes with XP, is quite happy to stitch multiple video files together.

It only takes one file and makes it into several and then combines it again. It does not combine two different files. Am I doing something wrong?

You're doing something wrong then, as I was recently able to stick three different video files together of varying length using only Windows Movie Maker and it made one big file, no issues whatsoever.

(edit: sudden thought: You're not trying to overlay one video clip on top of another in a layering effect are you? Movie Maker won't do that).

I think it doesn't work because the files aren't continuous clips. Is their another program that works besides Movie Maker?

Clips I stuck together weren't continuous. Three separate random ones.

Anyway, plenty of choice, type your subject into Google.
