I recently removed the koobface.b virus from my computer. It allowed a ton of malware into my system. I used your steps to clean the virus and the malware but now my internet explorer cant open http sites. It opens https (secured) sites just fine. Here is my log file from hijackthis.

Hi,
The infection is already gone. To restore your Internet, Start HijackThis, click scan and check the following entries in it: R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:9090 R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyOverride = *.local;<local> Click the fix checked button below. Or, In IE: Tools Menu -> Internet Options -> Connections Tab ->Lan Settings > uncheck "use a proxy server" or reconfigure the Proxy server again in case you have set it previously. In Firefox in Tools Menu -> Options... -> Advanced Tab -> Network Tab -> "Settings" under Connection. Let me know if that solved your issue. |
