Hello all! I hope someone can reply quickly to my problem!

I have a laptop (Toshiba Satellite M40-JM8) and I want to upgrade the ram.
This is the ram that it has: http://www.memoryx.net/tosam4me53.html
- 200pin SODIMM DDR ram

I was just wondering if i bought this: http://www.futuresho...i...4068&catid=
If this would be compatible because it is:
- 200pin SODIMM DDR2 ram

Basically, would this be compatible with my laptop?
(I know DDR2 is faster and this toshiba is old and probably cannot support it...BUT will it just revert to a slower speed? or will it not work at all?)

Despite the fact that laptop (SODIMM) DDR and DDR2 have the same number of pins, they are not cross compatible I'm afraid. Putting a DDR2 stick in your laptop simply won't work.

Agreeing with above - did a quick google search, doesn't seem that DDR2 will work in a DDR slot. SOL

One other quick question, Does the mhz have to match EXACTLY?

Not absolutely sure what you mean but if you're asking about whether you need to purchase DDR333 memory, for example, for a system that's running it's memory bus at 333MHz, then you have to match that speed or higher. In other words in this particular example, either DDR333 or DDR400 should work.
