Looking to Upgrade DSL modem

I have SBC DSL 2wire homeportal 1000SW. I have been searching for an upgrade for the modem via 2wire hompage and SBC. I would like to go wireless and add more ethernet connections to the modem. After performing many web searches it appears the 1701HG and 1800HG have been popular among similar users.

I am looking for any advice for an upgrade and where to purchase the modems. I have found the 1701HG at Bestbuy, but for other 2wire models, they are difficult to find. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks, toddsul
