Aw man I remember posting this one a forum once ! Good Ol' forum days.
I'm beginign to like this forum. Tons and tons of tutorials. Edit : Seems like the nglayout.initialpaint.delay isn't in the new firefox version or is it just me? This post has been edited by PoRco: Mar 29 2009, 01:32 AM |

You can also get the Fasterfox extension for performance and network tweaks from: -->https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/se...ox&status=4 FasterFox now boggs down Firefox more than ever. Seems like the nglayout.initialpaint.delay isn't in the new firefox version or is it just me? nglayout.initialpaint.delay tweak no longer works! It simply is not needed. |

Nevermind, I figured it out.
How do you change it from false to true? Make Firefox Faster
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries: network.http.pipelining network.http.proxy.pipelining network.http.pipelining.maxrequests Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading. 2. Alter the entries as follows: Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true" Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to any number around 5-12. This means it will make X requests at once, depending on the number you put in. NOTE: A recommended number is either 8 or 12. 3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New > Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves. If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now. IMPORTANT: Some small sites may block your connection because it DOES take up more bandwidth than usual. Take note.
