It's definitely a malware infection. Whatever it is, it barely shows its effects in the system yet, but it already blocks pages that set out to help fight infections.


Here's what happens in detail:

I installed McAfee after having my PC without antivirus for a long time, and it didn't update. It sent me messages that there is no internet connection, but my connection is fine.

I immediately assumed that there was a virus that tricked McAfee into not connecting to the page, so I decided to download the updates from the page by myself. That's then I saw the awful truth, McAfee's page won't open.

At first, I thought that maybe the page was temporarily down, but I didn't have my hopes up. So I sent the link to a friend I had online and she was actually able to open the page on her PC without problem.

That's when my fear was confirmed. There's something in my PC that blocks McAfee's page so that it won't update.

I surfed the net to find a solution just to see that the problem was worse than I thought. Many forums and pages devoted to fighting virus don't open either. Pages of other antivirus didn't open either.

Whatever infection I have in my PC blocks not only McAfee's page but it also blocks other pages in which I could find help about virus.

Luckily, sites that cover all computer issues rather that focusing only on virus are still working and so I can write this.

I really hope I can solve this without having to format my PC

Other signs of infections besides the blocking of health sites:
Windows updates keep turning off automatically.
Error messages when trying to turn off the PC for the first time.

I just checked and I can't access Microsoft page either.
