Hi all. My first time in one of these help forums, so let me know if I'm doing it all wrong! I, like many others found the MediaAccK.exe when I was shutting down my pc and got a failed to load warning for it. After an exhaustive search I followed the directions in a different thread on this site. I'm pretty sure HiJack This has got rid of the actual .exe but I cant delete the Media Access folder in the programs. Keeps telling me access denied, even when I tried in safe mode. Do I need to bother going further? My brain is already fried just getting this far hehehe

Doesn't look like I'm going to get the help I need here, so I'll look elsewhere...thanks anyway though, just reading through other's posts helped some byeeeee

The way I deleted the files was I launched the task manager and right clicked on the MediaAccess.exe process and selected "End Process Tree." I then was able to delete the Media Access folder.

I tried going to the task manager and that didn't work. I have tried so many things. DOES ANYONE HAVE A SOLUTION TO GET RID OF THESE FILES????

If you havent already done so, go get hijack this and run it....check the box next to MediaAcck.exe. That at least gets rid of the .exe and as far as I'm concerned the Media Access folder that it was in can stay, least it's empty now lol
Not going to all the trouble of formatting just for an empty folder!

I finally got rid of it.....I think...
I ran hi jack, checked the box associated with the file, choose fix it then rebooted the machine.
Then I was able to get to my user profile and I went to the Task Mgr and ended the processing tree where ever I saw it listed.

So far it has not come back and I am able to access all of my files.
