Micro phone doesn't work! it used to...

Been using Skype for a couple years. went to use it the other day and the person could not hear me. I could hear them.
I checked my connections and seemed ok. I checked my control panel audio and I guess nothing jumped out at me as wrong. Anyone know where else I can look for problem? Thanks.
