I have a dell inspiron e1405 when i start it up it just goes to a black screen that says : "windows could not start because the following file is mising or corrupt: windows\system32\config\system you can attempt to repair this file by starting windows setup using the original setup cdrom. select 'r' at the first screen to start repair."

i dont have the cd, i just want to be able to get back onto my desktop so that i can save some pictures or maybe even just delete them before i bring my laptop to the professionals.
I've tried pressing F8, F11, F2... basically every button but it just restarts and brings me back to the same screen.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

1. If you have Windows CD, follow the steps from here: http://icrontic.com/...pair_windows_xp

2. If you don't have Windows CD...
Download Windows Recovery Console: http://www.thecomput...om/files/rc.iso
Download, and install free Imgburn: http://www.imgburn.c...hp?act=download
Using Imgburn, burn rc.iso to a CD.
Boot to the CD...let it finish loading.
When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
Then, follow the steps from here: http://icrontic.com/...pair_windows_xp, starting below this picture on page 1:
