Merry Xmas!

I can't seem to clean this spywrae/malware or whaterver it is from my computer. It involves pop up ads recommending the install of winfixer. It also shows up party poker ads, an adult site ad and smileys. It does not happen often as others I have read, but they are annoying and seem to be running something in the background because I have noticed that the computer does not go into standby or hibernate mode. It does, but after a couple of seconds it boots back up. I also noticed that my cable connection drops out every 10-15 mins. then reconnects. Although I noticed this happening for a month or so before the ads came up.

I have run the following:
Clean up
Spy Bot
Ad Aware
CWShredder
Ewildo
AVG trial version.

I tried running them in safe mode, no luck.

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop.

• Double-click VundoFix.exe to extract the files

Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu).
Set the program up as follows:
Click "Options..."
Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
Put a check next to the following (Make sure nothing else is checked!):

• Empty Recycle Bins
• Delete Cookies
• Delete Prefetch files
• Cleanup! All Users

Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

It may ask you to reboot at the end, click NO.

Then, please run this online virus scan: ActiveScan

Copy the results of the ActiveScan and paste them here along with a new HiJackThis log and the vundofix.txt file from the vundofix folder into this topic

I went through the instructions, I did not receive a "pendingfile..." prompt. Did not have any trouble, rebooted when I clicked yes, booted up fine. Do you think this should do it?? Do you know if this had any effect on my internet connection going out every once in a while??

1. Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
   
2. AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
   
3. SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.
   
4. SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
   
5. IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
   
6. CleanUP! - Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
