EDIT:New problem at 4th post

Don't ask me how but I got the win32.vitro virus. Rebooted into avast boot-time scan, deleted a few .exes in system32 folder that was infected with virus, which predictably made windows unable to load. So I use BartPE to try to replace the files deleted. However, I have extreme difficulty finding the files to download, so I hope you guys can help me out please.

List of files infected and deleted:
charmap.exe
clipsrv.exe (took from windows cd)
cmd.exe (downloaded online)
dllhost.exe (took from windows vista, the only other computer at home)
freecell.exe
mnmsrvc.exe
odbcad32.exe(took from windows cd)
sol.exe
tourstart.exe
ups.exe
userinit.exe(downloaded online)
winmine.exe
write.exe
wupdmgr.exe

Would appreciate if you could give me the files neccessary for normal functioning=) Currently, explorer dies whenever I try to run it, but ctrl alt del works to run programs. I'm bad at cmd so can't do it that way. Thanks!

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post the reguested logs in THAT forum. If you are unable to run any of the tools then start a new topic in the malware forum and put this in the subject line...I am unable to run any malware tools

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).

Add a link to this topic so that malware tech can see what steps have been taken here

I did as you said but got no response so far. Unfortunately, between the boot-time scans and mbam usage over numerous restarts, over 30 .exe files in system32 folder was moved to Avast AV chest. Rather than manually replacing every single exe like I did for the above situation, I used the repair on xp. However, windows setup dies halfway, giving an error:

An exception occured while trying to run 'shell32,Control_RunDLL intl.cpl,,/f:"C:\WINDOWS\System32\$winnt$.inf" /s:"D:\I386""

It restarts and gets the same error every time.

So, now I'm stuck and not even able to start in safe mode.. I hope you guys can help me out here please.
