Hi I was wondering if someone could please check out my HJL my computer takes about 2mins to start have run all the usual checks also when connecting to the internet i takes about 5 mins just to open the homepage. Hope I have done this right. Many thanks in advance for any help I get.

As an introduction, please note that I am not Superhuman, I do not know everything, but what I do know has taken me years to learn. I am happy to pass on this information to you, but please bear in mind that I am also fallible.

Please note that you should have Administrator rights to perform the fixes. Also note that multiple identity PC’s (family PC’s) present a different problem; please tell me if your PC has more than one individual’s setting, but continue with the fix.

I note that you are running HijackThis from Temporary Folder; please create a new folder for it (for example C:\Program Files\Hijackthis\Hijackthis.exe) and move the programme into it. It is very important you do this before anything else since backup files can be deleted if they are not within their own folder!

Click My Computer, then C:\ and then Program Files.
In the menu bar, go to File>New>Folder. That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can right-click on and rename to HJT or HijackThis. Now you have C:\Program Files\HijackThis. Cut ‘n’ Paste your HijackThis.exe into it.

I think your boot problem may be caused to too many security devices competing with each other. I see four programmes in your running processes: Windows Defender, Symantec, PC Guard and F-Secure. The PC Guard full package is a monthly subscription on certain broadband speeds, Symantec looks like a remnant left over from a previous installation of Norton, Windows Defender is a freebie antimalware scanner, and F-Secure looks like the full security suite package, which includes all the previous programme’s function.

All of these programmes will not sit together without there being conflicts. It’s your PC and therefore your choice but if you have paid for F-Secure, I would stick with it and uninstall the rest.

Please delete your temporary files.

Click on START > RUN > type in cleanmgr and hit ENTER

You will see a window asking you to choose your harddrive (most likely C: Drive)

Click it and Windows will now scan the drive and show you the results

Make sure the following are checked:

Downloaded Program Files
Temporary Internet Files and
Recycle Bin
Compress Old Files (if you want more disk space)

Click OK and Disk Cleanup will delete those files for you.

Next, go to Start>Run>type in %temp% hit Enter and delete the content of all the temp folders shown (only the content, not the folder). A couple of files may be in memory and will not therefore delete, this is normal.

Has that helped the slow boot problem?

Firstly I have done everything you have said I have left myself with F-Secure the computer is running slitly better but the internet still takes a long time to load up i have done another HJL could you please tell me if there is anything I can remove from that, that may be causing problems. Your HJT log is not that bad to be honest. You can delete the following items without a problem; it may speed things up a little, three are bad and the rest just junk.

Right click on this link Del 015 Domains.inf and choose Save (link) As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards

Rescan with HijackThis. Close all programmes leaving only HijackThis running. Place a checkmark or tick against the following:

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.
