Do you recognize this program: M-Audio ?
===================================== You may want to print out these instructions or save it as a text document, and use them as a reference. If you have any questions regarding the fix, please ask us before proceeding. Please make sure that you follow this in the right order as I have listed. ===================================== Anti-Virus programs take up an enormous amount of your computer's resources when they are actively scanning your computer. Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time can cause your computer to run very slow, become unstable and even, in rare cases, crash. You currently have Norton and AVG, please uninstall one and leave the other one. ===================================== Update Java
Uninstall Programs Click Start » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs, and then remove the following program/s (if present):
Please open HijackThis, click Do a system scan only, and then place a checkmark beside each of these entries: R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.dell4me.com/myway R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.dell4me.com/myway R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.dell4me.com/myway O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe After placing all the checkmarks, close all windows (except HJT), and then hit Fix Checked. When it finishes, exit HJT. ===================================== Delete this folder (if found) : C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\ ===================================== Clear IE's Cookies and Cache
Restart your computer ===================================== Run an online scan at Panda's ActiveScan
===================================== In your next reply, please include these log(s):

I uninstalled Java. When I clicked the link to download the newest version, I got the "page cannot be displayed" message. So I tried going to the Java website and finding it myself. Unfortunately, the same thing happened.

Thanks.
It worked, but when it tries to install it gives this message: Installer cannot procede with current internet proxy settings. How do I fix that? |

If you downloaded the "Online" installer, you must have an open internet connection, because the installer will use the internet. I think there had been problems about your internet, did you grant it access?
Well, I think the best way is to just download the "Offline" version of the installer. Link here : http://jdl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=10433 / This post has been edited by Jag11: May 12 2006, 01:11 AM |
