Well after reading and what not, I find that this is a very common problem, I beleive that I have solved it, but want to post my hijack log here, in case I have a bigger issue then I think I do
On a side note, I've installed McAfee (first) and later AVG anti virus, so I'd like to get rid of McAfee but for some reason I am unable to, any help in that regards would be a BONUS

Thanks in advance for the help

Not sure what the "common problem" was - except for the fact that you were probably infected with Trojan.Vundo previously since I still see a leftover in your log.

O20 - AppInit_DLLs: nbsvmu.dllavgrsstx.dll

So check and fix above entry in HijackThis.

Then we need to restore the reference for AVG in that key. To do this,

Open notepad and copy and paste next present in the quotebox below in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

QUOTE
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]
"AppInit_DLLs"="avgrsstx.dll"

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
It should look like this:
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.
(In case you are unsure how to create a reg file, take a look here with screenshots.)

To remove your McAfee (since you're unable to uninstall it)

* Download and run the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe).
Running the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR.exe) removes all 2005, 2006, and 2007 versions of McAfee consumer products.
  • McAfee Security Center
  • McAfee VirusScan
  • McAfee Personal Firewall Plus
  • McAfee Privacy Service
  • McAfee SpamKiller
  • McAfee Wireless Network Security
  • McAfee SiteAdvisor
  • McAfee Data Backup
  • McAfee Network Manager
  • McAfee Easy Network
  • McAfee AntiSpyware

Download the removal tool from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licens...atches/MCPR.exe
  • Click Save and save the file to any folder on the computer.
  • Navigate to the folder where the file is saved.
  • Double-click MCPR.exe.
  • Click Run. A Command Line window will be displayed, and then close automatically. Wait for a second Command Line window to be displayed.
Note: Do not double-click MCPR.exe again, you may have to wait up to 1 minute for the next window to appear.
After the second window appears, the program will begin the cleanup.
  • Observe the installation, which could take several minutes. The following message will be displayed in the Command Line window:
The machine must reboot to complete the un-installation. Reboot now? [y.n]
  • Press Y on the keyboard.
  • Wait for the computer to restart.
All McAfee products are now removed from your computer.
These McAfee removal instructions can be found at http://ts.mcafeehelp.com/faq3.asp?docid=408302

Sorry I obviously was reading and typing at the same time, and didn't add what my 'common problem' was. It was the redirect from google/every search engine known to man.... that was effecting me continually.

Everything worked and really appreciated it but the Macfee one, I am wondering because my wife got the version from school, if that's the reason I can not uninstall it. I ran the problem and I get this error.

Thanks in advance for all the help

I ran the program that you informed me to download this quote.... 'Download and run the McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool (MCPR.exe).
Running the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR.exe) removes all 2005, 2006, and 2007 versions of McAfee consumer products.'

But received the error that I showed in my previous post.

The program ran, but not to completition

Hi,

Please try it again from Windows Safe mode.

If still no change, I suggest to contact McAfee support (as requested in the error). The reason is because they may know what may be causing this. That's why it's better to contact them before manually deleting the McAfee references, because you never know...
