hi again lol... anyways um since i had a built in windows xp computer by HP and it screwed up reformatting and i couldnt open windows...i decided to borrow a friend's windows xp cd and reformat it again. once i finished reformatting, everything was perfect, i even downloaded service package 2 but there was a slight problem and i checked to see if there are any viruses just in case. The problem was that if i was on the computer for maybe an hour or longer, my computer will freeze on me when i reach to 'my computer' folder or 'desktop' folder and when i play games my computer will go sluggish on me and the cpu usage will jump from 96% to 100%. so....i decided to reformat again but now the problem is..when i leave my computer on too long, files and programs will not open when i click on it, itll just look like it will open but nothing pops up. and when i try to close opened files or programs itll just freeze and say not responding, alt+cntrl+del wont open up task manager and i cant shutdown or restart my computer so the only way to turn it off is take out the plug in the back =(.....

anyone plz help? and thanks in advance. this was my 5th time reformatting in 3 days -.-... help is greatly appreciated.

Welcome back. smile.gif

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log as a new topic in the Hijack This forum. It will get a better response there from the people most qualified to analyze logs.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide. Also see this post.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
