I deleted Vundo via Vundomundobegone the other day, but there seem to be some problems anew. Programs that were fine now freeze for some bizarre reasonand, when one program is running, ctrl+alt+delete seems to refuse to come up and other programs also. I'm not sure if any of that makes sense, but generally I feel the PC is still infected.
Panda Activescan was ran prior but, unfortunately, the user failed to realise the "export log" button so just dismissed it as a rip off. I'm unable to complete steps one and two because ulead is currently burning and no browser will appear anymore (despite it earlier allowing me to open not only mozilla, but hijack this too). I have updated Windows but, and maybe this is relevant, each time the PC is switched off it goes on about installing "1 of 1 updates" even though there aren't any. It will just stay like this, saying it's installing till you just go ahead and pull out the plug. Sorry for all these problems, but here's the Hijackthis log: QUOTE Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 16:20:58, on 23/04/2008 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007\aawservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\InterVideo\DeviceService\DevSvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\LightScribe\LSSrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero8\Nero BackItUp\NBService.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\DLA\DLACTRLW.EXE C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\perfs.exe C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliPoint\ipoint.exe C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2008\bdagent.exe C:\Program Files\PeerGuardian2\pg2.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ulead Systems\DVD\ULCDRSvr.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft IntelliPoint\dpupdchk.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wserving.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Communicator\xcommsvr.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\BitDefender\BitDefender Update Service\livesrv.exe C:\Program Files\BitDefender\BitDefender 2008\vsserv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\ZONELA~1\ZONEAL~1\MAILFR~1\mantispm.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wuauclt.exe C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\DMFLauncher.exe C:\Program Files\Ulead Systems\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\Ulead DVD MovieFactory 6\DVDMF.exe C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis\HijackThis.exe R0 - Hello
Before we begin, you should save these instructions in Notepad to your desktop, or print them, for easy reference. Much of our fix will be done in Safe mode, and you will be unable to access this thread at that time. If you have questions at any point, or are unsure of the instructions, feel free to post here and ask for clarification before proceeding. Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop. Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive% (Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix) Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Download OTScanIt.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.
Use the Add Reply button and post the information back here in an attachment. I will review it when it comes in. The last line is < End of Report >, so make sure that is the last line in the attached report. Make sure you attach the report in your reply. If it is too big to upload, then zip the text file and upload it that way |
