i am working on a customers computer and i have run into several problems including:
-when i try to open malware bytes i recive the following error- "runtime error 372 Failed to load control 'vbalgrid' from vbalgrid6.ocx Version of vbalgrid6.ocx is outdated. Make sure you are using the version of the control that was provided with your application. -when i look in control panel at my network connections, there is nothing displayed and i cannot add a network or connect wirelessly. -before the customer brought the computer in, she had no task bar or start button at the bottom of the screen and and the desktop display was blank. she restarted and got the task bar yet no start menu and the desktop was restored. once more she restarted and the start button apeared. customer tried to do a system restore and it would not allow her to. -i have removed unnessecary spyware and spy bot and the errored version of malware bytes. after installing a fresh version of malware, i still recieve the same message -i have done an AVG scan and it showed there were no threats to the computer, however i could not do the nessecary updates for the program because of the internet problem i listed above. something has to be wrong! -the operating system is Windows XP Proffesional 2000 -i do have another system in which i can download other programs to a flash drive and go from there, the tricky part is if the other computer will allow me to install them from the flash drive and actually install correctly with no errors, i have installed and unistalled the malware several times with no sucess. any help would be much apprieciated! thank you! mysytec.karmyn |

yess! indeed i do, the customer doesnt want the computer anymore, but it would be nice to know of a way to get around this type of problem, if i were to slave the hard-drive from another computer and run a malware scan on it would this fix it?

Possibly yeah. If you can get into the machine at all, then am sure some of the tools we use would have been able to fix it
Also we aren't here to fix machines that you are being paid to fix yourself |

ALSO--i said in my first topic discussion tht the computer was for a customer, so u gave me false hope by asking me if i still needed help. maybe this information should be posted on the half a page instruction list we all have to read b4 posting a new topic, and u should pay a little more attention to detail. thank you

I suggest you earn the money you are being paid and not have other people do your job
